Banana Bread Anyone?? Ha! You wish...

I have this awesome view in my room, which is one of the biggest rooms in the house. I am upstairs and I have a big Bay window that allows me to see every car driving by and every person walking by. But it's a nice view at night... I can sit and watch the sun go down, tune out the kids, and think about what things I need do etc. Of course I right now, I am extremely humbled. I am sitting here, looking out my window staring at a 3 loaves of Banana Nut Bread and a money order for $55.00. I am loving life right now.

Now I know you may think, ok, what's the point? But the beauty of this story is that two people in this world love me to pieces and I am truly greatful for the both of them.

One of them is the only woman I consider my best friend, sister, confident, soul mate, etc...that is always the giver in our relationship. She lives 2000 miles away but makes me SHINE when she sends me Banana Nut Bread at least once a year. I am a simple person, who doesnt require much so when she calls me once a month or sends me an e-mail or a note in the mail, it means the world to me. I have every letter she has ever sent me since I've moved away here to sunny California. I miss her terribly being in her company, having a cup of coffee, walking down memory lane revisiting those days driving around in a Red Miata.... but I'll take what I can get even if it is Banana nut bread. Side note: she HATES nuts! So this bread is special and it's heavily guarded right now by a bat from 5 kids.

The other is my 85 year old Aunt Helen in Denver, CO(Sonja you'd love her!). She has never had children of her own but took to me when I was very young and makes it her business to know where I am all the time and call at least 2 times a week. She lives alone so I worry, but again she is a very giving woman. She knows I am not working right now, and used to always tell me she'd send me "something" in the mail. I always knew she meant money but I always told her not to worry. I of course always dismiss her little promise, but she surprised me by sending something anyways. She's 85! I should be sending her money not vice versa! But it was a sweet gesture none the less and I love her doing so.

Sigh... I guess I have to go make sure the kids have not torn anything up and start dinner..

Thanks SONJA!!! You made my day. I love you.

Thanks Aunt Helen!!! I love you too.

You are welcome. I love you too. What a sweet bloggy post. I am glad I'm not the only one with a stash of letters. I even have one made out of red construction paper that says "Red Sonja" from the summer we first met.
